The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced a 50% increase in examination duty remuneration for teachers, providing financial relief to thousands of educators involved in conducting Matric and Intermediate examinations.
According to the revised notification, Superintendents will now receive Rs. 2,340 per day, compared to the previous Rs. 1,560. Similarly, the daily allowance for Deputy Superintendents has been increased from Rs. 1,260 to Rs. 1,800.

Teachers assigned as invigilators will also benefit from the revised rates. Their daily remuneration has been raised from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,500, reflecting the board’s effort to recognize the demanding responsibilities performed during examination sessions.
The revised payment structure also applies to other examination staff. Mobile Inspectors will now receive Rs. 1,620 instead of Rs. 1,080, while Distributor Inspectors will be paid Rs. 1,800, up from Rs. 1,200. In addition, Practical Examiners will now receive Rs. 2,310, compared with the previous Rs. 1,540.

Controller of Examinations Tauseef ur Rehman said the increase is aimed at appreciating the dedication, honesty, and professional services of teachers who ensure transparent and smooth conduct of public examinations.

The revised remuneration is expected to motivate examination staff and strengthen the overall examination process. BISE Lahore conducts annual SSC (Matric) and HSSC (Intermediate) examinations for hundreds of thousands of students, making teachers’ role essential in maintaining fairness and discipline throughout the examination system.
