The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has introduced a comprehensive ranking and evaluation system for its affiliated institutions, including medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health sciences colleges across Punjab. The initiative is designed to strengthen academic quality, transparency, and performance accountability in health education.
Under the new framework, institutions will be assessed annually based on key performance indicators such as teaching quality, clinical training, assessment standards, faculty development, research output, and student support services. Regular academic audits will also be conducted to ensure compliance with approved curricula and training benchmarks.

The system places strong emphasis on quality assurance in medical education, aiming to align Pakistani institutions with international academic standards. According to officials, the ranking model will help identify both high-performing colleges and those requiring improvement through structured monitoring.
UHS has assigned its Department of Medical Education the responsibility for overseeing the process. The department will manage curriculum evaluation, institutional audits, and performance tracking, while also developing a digital dashboard to monitor real-time academic indicators across affiliated colleges.
Top-performing institutions will be rewarded with academic recognition, research collaboration opportunities, and faculty development programs. On the other hand, institutions with consistently weak performance will be placed under enhanced supervision, with corrective measures introduced to improve standards.
