Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced new admission guidelines for students seeking admission to HSSC Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering programs. The updated criteria are aimed at ensuring that only eligible Science students are admitted to these streams.
According to the university, only candidates who have passed Matric with Science subjects can apply for these programs. Applicants must have successfully cleared all compulsory and elective subjects in their Matric examination. Students with an ‘F’ grade in any compulsory or elective subject will not be considered eligible for admission.
AIOU has also made it mandatory for applicants to submit an attested copy of their Matric Science certificate along with the admission form. The university clarified that only a result card will not be accepted as proof of qualification during the admission process.

In addition, first-semester students have been instructed to get their Matric Science certificate verified by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and upload the verified document to their CMS account. The university warned that failure to complete this verification may create difficulties when applying for the final HSSC certificate.
Students are advised to carefully read the admission instructions, submit all required documents before the deadline, and ensure that their educational records are complete to avoid delays or rejection of their applications. The latest rules are part of AIOU’s efforts to make the admission process more transparent and maintain academic standards for science programs.
