Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has introduced a strict code of conduct prohibiting all officers and employees from accepting or demanding sweets, gifts, meals, or any other form of hospitality from students while performing official duties.
According to an official notification issued by the Registrar’s Office, the new policy applies to all administrative services, including the processing of degrees, transcripts, certificates, clearance documents, migration cases, and other official matters. Staff members have been directed to complete all work strictly on merit without expecting any personal favors.
The university has also made it clear that no officer or employee is allowed to pressure, influence, or indirectly ask students for gifts or hospitality during any stage of an official process. The administration said such practices place an unnecessary financial and social burden on students and are inconsistent with the principles of transparency, integrity, and good governance.

To strengthen accountability, heads of academic departments and administrative offices have been instructed to ensure full implementation of the new policy. The university has further established a complaint mechanism through the Registrar’s Office, allowing students and employees to report any violations confidentially.
QAU emphasized that the initiative is part of its broader efforts to improve administrative transparency, promote ethical conduct, and ensure that every student receives equal treatment without discrimination or unofficial demands.
The university warned that any employee found violating the policy will face strict disciplinary and departmental action under the university’s service rules. The administration said the new measures are intended to build greater trust between students and the university while maintaining a fair, professional, and corruption-free academic environment.
