The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has officially restored the six-day school week for all public and private schools across the province. The revised schedule will remain in effect until further orders, replacing the previous five-day working week.
According to an official notification, all educational institutions under the School Education and Literacy Department will now conduct classes from Monday to Saturday. The decision applies equally to government schools and private educational institutions throughout Sindh.
The latest directive supersedes the earlier notification issued in March 2026, making the new school timetable mandatory for all institutions under the department’s jurisdiction. Education officials have been instructed to ensure the order is implemented without delay.
The department has directed Directors of Schools, District Education Officers (DEOs), Taluka Education Officers (TEOs), and private school managements to circulate the notification and ensure full compliance across the province. Schools are expected to adjust their academic calendars and teaching schedules accordingly.

Officials believe that restoring a six-day academic week will improve classroom learning time, support the completion of the annual syllabus, and strengthen students’ academic performance. The additional working day is also expected to provide more time for examinations, co-curricular activities, remedial classes, and teacher planning.
Parents, students, and school administrations are advised to follow the updated schedule issued by the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department. Any future revisions or exemptions will be communicated through official government notifications.
